5 Easy Ways to Give Thanks All Year

Thanksgiving may be the holiday of gratitude, but the rest of the year is also ripe with opportunities to express appreciation for clients and colleagues. Here are five easy ways to give thanks all year.

Talk the talk. Simply saying “thank you” or “I appreciate you” is valuable. Mention that you are grateful for something specific rather than “thanks for all that you do.” You might say thanks to a colleague for having a positive attitude, even during hectic times. Also, say thanks to individuals who inquire about your business, even if you don’t earn their business. This shows your commitment to service.

Put it in writing, literally. It may be easy to fire off a quick email, but handwritten notes say you took the time to make it personal. That little extra effort leaves a big impression.

Be there. If your clients and referral partners have events throughout the year, make an appearance to show your support.

Ask for and appreciate feedback. Invite clients to complete an evaluation or just ask them for feedback—and be sure to thank them for their suggestions. This demonstrates you value their opinion and that you have a commitment to continuous improvement.
