For those who have purchased a home, you understand what I’m talking about when I say that you’ll be receiving a barrage of junk mail that rapidly accumulates immediately after you’ve closed on the purchase of a home. In most cases, that junk mail is not Lender driven but rather simply the result of various solicitors hoping to make a buck off your recent home purchase, the recording of which is public record. Some Lenders do, however, join in the fray and offer services other than your mortgage and try to capture their share of funds from the sale of other “services” typically obtained through your insurance agent. Axia Home Loans does not do this – we specialize in mortgages, that’s all we do. We believe that you cannot be all things to everyone, and that the practice of being the very best in one field is a much better practice.
Recently we’ve been receiving calls from customers who immediately upon closing received a very official looking document from the “Local Records Office”, that states in part “Local Records Office provides a copy of the only document that identifies “your name” as the property owner of “said property address”. It goes on to state “for a complete property profile and an additional copy the only document that identifies you as a property owner usually called a deed, please detach coupon and return with an $89 processing fee in the envelope provided.” THIS IS A SCAM! Do not do this!
If you read the last paragraph above the credit card information box, it will state “this is not a bill, this is a solicitation, you are under no obligation to pay the amount stated”, however, due to the official “looking” nature of this advertisement, people are not fully reading and are falling for this.
